Introducing the Mechagodzilla Selvedge, a 19oz Japanese selvedge denim inspired by Mechagodzillaās first appearance in the 1974 filmĀ GodzillaĀ vs. Mechagodzilla. In the film, Mechagodzilla is a robotic double ofĀ Godzilla, cold, weaponized, and engineered for destruction. This denim reflects those visual elements with a structured, metallic-toned design.
The denim is woven in Japan using 100% cotton and features an iron grey weft visible beneath a rope-dyed indigo warp, evoking the polished steel exterior of Mechagodzilla. The heavy 19oz weight gives the fabric a stiff, armor-like hand that softens with wear while retaining deep texture. A silver and red selvedge ID runs along the outseam, mirroring Mechagodzillaās metal body and glowing red sensors.
